Our Experienced Teaching Team

Our dedicated team consists of experienced Tutors, and experts in their field

Meet our Bowen Tutors

In addition to holding their Bowen qualifications for at least three years, and participating in over 300 hours of tutor training, our Bowen Tutors hold a minimum of Level 3 Award in Education & Training.  They also have a wealth of experience gained whilst running their own successful Bowen clinics, enabling them to provide first-hand support and advice to their students.

CBS has a policy of continued support and training for tutors. We are a tightly knit team, working closely together to support one another, providing the best possible training experience and support for our students.

Colin Murry

Colin found Bowen 15 years ago and has never looked back. After establishing himself as a successful therapist, he graduated to becoming a teacher, and then a director of CBS. Colin continues to run his busy Glasgow clinic, where he enjoys treating people from all walks of life. He is popular with his clients, who complain if he dares to take a holiday!

By passing on his knowledge of Bowen, Colin hopes to create a positive impact on many more people than he could by just treating in his clinic. He loves teaching, and equipping students to progress from newbies to successful Bowen therapists in their own right. "My goal is for my students to surpass me in knowledge and skill. I believe that should be the goal of any teacher.” He believes Bowen should be the number one go to therapy for people in pain. “I have trained in many therapies and with many fantastic therapists both here in the UK and in North America. I still find Bowen to be the most effective technique I have ever used.

Colin connects easily with others and tailors his lessons so that all his students feel supported and at ease. Everyone is welcome in his classroom: he is able to explain everything in an easy-to-understand way, smoothing over any difficulties with kindness and a good dose of humour.

“Colin’s teaching is truly one of a kind. He approaches every student with patience, genuine care, and a non-judgemental attitude that makes learning feel safe and supported. I’ve gained not only invaluable knowledge but also a renewed sense of confidence and courage in myself” Chloë Hope 2024 Graduate.

When he isn’t teaching or treating, Colin likes to get out and reconnect with nature - whether that be mountain biking, canoeing, hill walking or dancing late into the night at music festivals.

Gus de la Querra

CBS Tutor

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Gus has been involved in the health and fitness industry for over 35 years. As a successful personal trainer, he relocated to the UK in 1999 where he was introduced to bodywork

Gus has been a therapist since 2004 and teaching Bowen since 2013.

As well as Bowen, Gus has explored a variety of soft tissue and hands-on techniques and has over the years developed his own style of treatment in his busy clinic in Witney, Oxfordshire, UK.

After realising the importance of the lymphatic system in bodywork and clinical presentations, he started delivering CPD workshops to practitioners, on ways of incorporating this important system as part of treatment protocols and symptom resolutions. Getting involved in the vagus nerve was not far behind, as these two systems function synergistically in maintaining our health and wellbeing.  The vagus nerve is the mind-body link! It plays a fundamental role in both our physical and mental/emotional health.

Gus is kind, supportive, has lots of experience and is extremely knowledgable. His courses are filled with plenty of giggles too.

He is married with two daughters.  When he's not working Gus loves travelling. He is a singer, guitarist, and keyboard player, doing "gigs" in his spare time.

Gil Hedley Ph.D., has been teaching Integral Anatomy via dissection labs, keynote events and lecture tours since 1995. Gil has created an approach to anatomy coherent with the holistic body philosophies of body explorers from various treatment modalities, as well as teachers from the yoga, pilates, and fitness industries. He has documented this approach through the four feature-length videos of The Integral Anatomy Series, which he has shared with the world via free access on YouTube and his website, www.gilhedley.com, where ample additional free content is also available to support his mission of "rebranding" the human body as a gift.

After receiving his doctorate in Theological Ethics from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago, Gil trained and practiced for a few years as a Certified Rolfer while undertaking to develop a novel approach to anatomy not borrowed from the medical paradigm, but grown "in-house" for the holistic care, movement and fitness communities.

Gil is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, where he has produced Anatomy from A-Z, which provides an enormous archive of on-camera dissection that documents and compares two human forms from an integral perspective. He has also produced The Nerve Project, a five month project to document the nervous tissue of the body which he has taken on a national tour 2023-2024. Gil presides over the Board of Directors for the Institute for Anatomical Research which hosts all of his programming, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the study of the human form with respect for the unique gift represented by each individual.
