Colin Murray
CBS Director & Senior Tutor
Colin Murray is the College of Bowen Studies cheeky, loveable Scotsman. Consistently going the extra mile for his students and colleagues, his work at CBS is driven by compassion and a real desire to help others.
Colin found Bowen 15 years ago and has never looked back. After establishing himself as a successful therapist, he graduated to becoming a teacher, and then a director of CBS. Colin continues to run his busy Glasgow clinic, where he enjoys treating people from all walks of life. He is popular with his clients, who complain if he dares to take a holiday!
By passing on his knowledge of Bowen, Colin hopes to create a positive impact on many more people than he could by just treating in his clinic. He loves teaching, and equipping students to progress from newbies to successful Bowen therapists in their own right. "My goal is for my students to surpass me in knowledge and skill. I believe that should be the goal of any teacher.” He believes Bowen should be the number one go to therapy for people in pain. “I have trained in many therapies and with many fantastic therapists both here in the UK and in North America. I still find Bowen to be the most effective technique I have ever used.”
Colin connects easily with others and tailors his lessons so that all his students feel supported and at ease. Everyone is welcome in his classroom: he is able to explain everything in an easy-to-understand way, smoothing over any difficulties with kindness and a good dose of humour.
“Colin’s teaching is truly one of a kind. He approaches every student with patience, genuine care, and a non-judgemental attitude that makes learning feel safe and supported. I’ve gained not only invaluable knowledge but also a renewed sense of confidence and courage in myself” Chloë Hope 2024 Graduate.
When he isn’t teaching or treating, Colin likes to get out and reconnect with nature - whether that be mountain biking, canoeing, hill walking or dancing late into the night at music festivals.
