The College of Bowen Studies (CBS) endeavour to take all possible care for the health and safety of students attending our training courses. We ask that you familiarise yourself with the following Health and Safety Policy and take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety of yourself, as well as being mindful of the safety and wellbeing of those around you. CBS will not be held responsible for students who do not follow this policy.
- Familiarise yourself with the layout of the building, identifying fire alarms, emergency exits and any potential hazards.
- Inform your tutor immediately if you discover anything that might compromise the safety of yourself or others.
- Please inform your tutor of any medical conditions, special requirements or disabilities, and the location of any medication or equipment that might be required. If you are seriously allergic to anything, please let your tutor know what it is and what the effects of exposure to these allergens might be.
- Do not attend training if you are aware that you have a contagious disease, infection or virus.
- Please inform your tutor and/or the people working on you, if you have any skin conditions or wounds that need particular care or should not be touched.
- During the practical sessions, students practise on one another. If you have any contra-indications or conditions which mean that you should not be worked on, or you feel you need a break from receiving Bowen, then please opt out of being worked on.
- Bowen moves should not hurt. If at any time you feel pain or discomfort, please tell whoever is working on you to stop, and ask the Tutor for guidance. Likewise, if you feel unsure or are worried you might hurt somebody, stop and ask your tutor for assistance.
- CBS will not be held responsible for any injuries or repercussions occurring as a result of students using therapies other than Bowen. Mixing therapies may cause undesirable effects, and students are therefore discouraged from using any other modalities for the duration of the training period.
- Mental health and wellbeing during training is also important. If you feel that someone is behaving in an inappropriate manner, you are made to feel uncomfortable, or someone is actively disregarding this policy, please speak to your Tutor.
